Youth Minister, Olawande Endorses 6th Social Media Digest Summit holding November 13, 2025

The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande has endorsed the 6th edition of the Social Media Digest Summit, slated to hold on November 13, 2025, in Abuja.

In a letter addressed to the summit’s convener, Mr. Jacob Aondoaseer Wuese, the Minister described the annual event as one of the most forward-thinking platforms empowering Nigerian youth through digital innovation.

He said this year’s edition themed “The Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Leveraging Social Media”, aligns with the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital transformation.

Thew letter read “I write to formally endorse the 6th edition of the Social Media Digest Summit, which I believe is in accordance with the priorities of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, and the commitment made by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to aid initiatives, programs, and conversations among youth.”

Olawande, who applauded the summit for placing Nigerian youth at the center of such strategic dialogue, emphasized the timeliness of the theme, noting that artificial intelligence is transforming global communication, businesses, and social interaction.

“As the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, I recognize and appreciate the critical role your summit plays in shaping informed, digitally aware, and technologically empowered young citizens,” the letter also read.

In his earlier letter requesting the endorsement, Mr. Jacob Wuese outlined the summit’s objectives, which include promoting the positive use of social media and boosting youth engagement through contests, awards, essay competitions, and school clubs.

He said past themes of the summit have addressed youth unemployment, electoral credibility, and development in Nigeria’s digital age adding that major sponsorship and support for the initiative have come from Professor Sebastine Hon, SAN, and several government and non-state actors.

The summit is expected to feature panel discussions, community interventions, and recognition of outstanding contributions to youth development and digital excellence.
