The Arewa Christians for Tinubu 2027 (ACT-2027) has set a target of five million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, with plans to mobilise supporters across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Convener and National Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, announced the target during the dedication of its national secretariat at Ogun House, Central Business District, Abuja.

Ngbako, who spoke at the October 4 event, urged members to strengthen the organisation’s grassroots structures and mobilise voters across states, local government areas and wards ahead of the election.

He said the group would focus on engaging market women, youths, pastors and other community stakeholders as part of its efforts to secure support for Tinubu’s re-election.

Describing ACT-2027 as the political wing of the Arewa Christians Development Association (ACDA), Ngbako said the organisation was established to promote Christian participation in politics across northern Nigeria.

He stressed that the movement was neither a church nor a denomination but a political platform for Christians seeking to influence the region’s political and governance processes.

Addressing the gathering on the theme, Building Arewa Through Christ-Centred Service, Ngbako called for collective efforts to address the development challenges confronting northern Nigeria.

He said the region’s progress required sacrifice, integrity, love and peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds.

According to him, the principles of Christ-centred service should translate into practical contributions to society rather than religious division, personal interests or the pursuit of political appointments and contracts.

He urged members to promote unity and reject hate speech, adding that the development of northern Nigeria required the involvement of both government and citizens.

On the group’s support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, Ngbako cited the administration’s economic reforms, governance approach and development initiatives as reasons for seeking continuity.

He pointed to the removal of the petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, arguing that the policies were aimed at addressing structural weaknesses in the economy.

He also referenced programmes relating to student loans, agriculture, consumer financing and infrastructure, maintaining that continuity would give the initiatives more time to deliver their intended benefits.

The ACT-2027 coordinator further announced plans to unveil a book titled Meet President Tinubu and His 52 Managers of the Economy in December.

He said the publication examines the administration’s economic management and profiles 52 officials associated with key institutions, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Bank of Industry, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and Nigeria Customs Service.

Ngbako described the book as part of the group’s efforts to improve public understanding of the administration’s economic policies and the Renewed Hope agenda.

He appealed to stakeholders to support the planned unveiling and assist the organisation in securing the president’s participation in the event.

The coordinator also called on members to establish state secretariats and expand the movement’s presence at the grassroots to strengthen its mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

He concluded by dedicating the national secretariat to the service of God and the development of northern Nigeria, expressing hope for peace, unity and prosperity across the country.
