A new political group, Alia for All, All for Alia Support Group, has been launched in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to mobilize grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group aims to unite supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and promote the achievements of the APC-led administrations at the state and federal levels.

Inaugurating the support group on Monday, Governor Hyacinth Alia, represented by the APC State Chairman, Chief Benjamin Omale, commended members for their commitment and urged them to remain united, organized and focused on promoting development and achieving set goals in their communities.

He called on members to prioritize collaboration, inclusiveness and effective communication, stressing the need to ensure that women and other groups were not left behind in the collective effort to achieve meaningful results.

He told the group that: “It is important that we remain focused on our goals and the direction in which we are heading. We must ensure that our efforts are genuine and inclusive. Nobody should be left behind, especially the women among us.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Planning Committee (CPC), Philip Achua, said the group was established to unite genuine APC members and bring supporters of the governor under one platform ahead of the elections.

Achua explained that the organization would mobilize party members and other eligible voters to support APC candidates in 2027. He called on Benue indigenes, irrespective of their places of residence, to join the movement.

He said the group would begin sensitizing residents on Governor Alia’s achievements and the need to re-elect him, adding that the governor deserved another term to consolidate his administration’s efforts in the state.

The group’s Coordinator, Alex Addingi, described the initiative as more than a political support group, saying it was designed as a digital structure to promote good governance and strengthen engagement between the government and the people.

Addingi said the group would engage communities, listen to residents’ concerns and encourage eligible voters who had yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so.

He added that the organization would establish structures from the state level down to wards and polling units to ensure effective grassroots mobilization.

The Chairman of Gboko Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, who spoke on behalf of the coordinators, described the inauguration as the beginning of a collective responsibility to bridge the gap between the government and the people.

He urged members to extend the group’s activities to every part of the state and translate their plans into concrete action.

Ogiri pledged that the coordinators would carry out their responsibilities with respect for the people, differing opinions and the rule of law, while ensuring that members remained active and committed to the organization’s objectives.

Also speaking, Tersoo Tor, on behalf of the directors, appreciated the support of youths and women, saying they would take the message of the achievements of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia to communities across Benue to mobilize support for their re-election.

The group’s Women Leader, Ambassador Jennifer Igyo, assured the leadership that women were prepared to participate actively in the campaign and mobilize voters for all APC candidates.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Power and Renewable Energy, Joseph Iji, expressed confidence in Governor Alia’s chances in the 2027 election, saying the governor’s performance had made a strong case for his re-election.

He questioned what opposition parties would offer that was significantly different from what the administration of Governor Alia was currently doing.
