The husband of Mrs. Patricia Chinyere Anaele, a school nurse at Clear Hope Foundation Academy in Dawaki, Bwari Area Council, has debunked claims that his wife was kidnapped, insisting instead that she was murdered on school premises.
Engineer Emmanuel Anaele, speaking during a press briefing in front of the locked school on Monday, described the narrative of a kidnapping as false.
He said his wife was brutally murdered inside the school compound alongside a 14-month-old baby in her care, and that the crime was clearly premeditated.“This was not a kidnap. It was outright murder, committed within the school premises by one of the school’s security personnel, David Moses, and his accomplice, Sunday, who is currently at large,” he stated.
The grieving husband explained that the remains of his wife were wheeled out and dumped in a canal, stressing that since the incident, the school proprietor, Dr. Abu Alasa—also the owner of Kings Care Hospital—had made no attempt to contact the bereaved families.
“This was a planned killing. I believe the school proprietor must be held accountable. I am calling on the FCT Administration to take action against the school and the security company responsible for hiring such individuals,” he said.
Engineer Anaele also alleged that the school’s proprietor has been influencing police efforts in a bid to suppress the matter. He warned that without justice, more lives may be lost due to the unsafe conditions at the school.
“This is a ticking time bomb. If justice is not served, another life will be lost. I urge the FCT Minister to intervene decisively,” he said.
It will be recalled that David Moses, the school security guard, had confessed to the FCT Police Command that he and his partner, Sunday, kidnapped Mrs. Anaele and the infant, killed them, and demanded a ransom of ₦3 million. Moses surrendered himself to the police following a dispute with Sunday over the sharing of the ransom.
At the press briefing, concerned parents and neighbours joined the call for justice and demanded the immediate closure of the school. One parent, Mr. Femi Emmanuel, revealed that he and his wife had previously considered withdrawing their child due to poor service delivery at the crèche.
“Now we know our fears were valid. The school must be shut down permanently to prevent further tragedy,” he said.
The school remained under lock and key during the briefing, while reports confirmed that both the school’s Principal and the manager of the security outfit have been taken into police custody.
