66th Independence: Enang Urges Nigerians To Celebrate Country, Back Economic Reforms

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Senator Ita Solomon Enang, OFR, has urged Nigerians at home and abroad to celebrate the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary with renewed pride in the nation and confidence in its future.
Enang, in an Independence Day message from the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, called on Nigerians in Germany and across the world to celebrate the country’s achievements while appreciating the values, resilience and potential of the Nigerian people.
The ambassador also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the administration’s efforts to steer Nigeria towards greater economic prosperity.
“I am very proud of being a Nigerian. I am very proud of being Ambassador of Nigeria to Germany because the interactions I have had since I came here has been that of a beautiful story for Nigeria,” Enang said.
He said his engagements with Germans, Europeans and other people had shown that Nigeria and Nigerians enjoyed a positive image abroad, although he noted that more needed to be done to project the country internationally.
According to him, Nigerians should do more to market the country’s achievements and potential, particularly in Europe, to strengthen the understanding of Nigeria and attract greater international engagement.
Enang also urged Nigerians to appreciate what he described as difficult but necessary economic decisions being taken by the Tinubu administration, saying the measures had helped improve the country’s economy and encouraged investors to explore opportunities in Nigeria.
He cited developments in the refining sector as an example of growing investment interest, noting that Nigerian investors were also establishing refineries and other businesses in other African countries.
The ambassador called on Nigerians to remain proud of their country and continue contributing to its development.
“Nigerians, be proud of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, be proud of the Federal Government of Nigeria,” he said.
Enang concluded his message by wishing Nigerians at home and abroad a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and urging them to continue flying the Nigerian flag with pride.
