Just in: Suspected Suicide Bomber Explodes in Abuja

An explosion has occurred in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday, killing one person and injuring another.

An eyewitness (military personnel) who pleaded anonymity said the man believed to be a suicide bomber was killed by an explosive contained in a rubber can close to Mogadishu barrack in Abuja

However, military authorities present at the scene said the situation could be explosive from a phone device and not IED explosive.

At the time of this report both the military personnel, DSS, police and officers of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are still trying to take inventory of the situation.
