NSSF Launches ‘A Mural of Hope’ Campaign: Empowering Youth to Inspire Healing Through Art

ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF), in partnership with Bio Ventures for Global Health (BVGH), BLFA Global, and the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, is proud to launch the A Mural of Hope – Call for Artists campaign.

This bold new initiative invites young artists to transform pain into purpose by designing a mural for the paediatric oncology ward at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH).

Designed as a creative health intervention, A Mural of Hope seeks to address a sobering reality: up to 70 per cent of children diagnosed with cancer in Nigeria abandon treatment—often due to emotional fatigue, financial challenges, and a lack of support.

Through this campaign, a once-ordinary hospital wall will become a permanent symbol of resilience, hope, and healing.

“At NSSF, we believe that health is more than medicine—it’s compassion, community, and the courage to keep going.”

“This campaign allows young artists to channel their creativity into something deeply impactful.

“Through a single mural, we hope to remind every child receiving treatment that they are not alone,” said Dr. Fejiro Chinye-Nwoko, Managing Director of NSSF.
