President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The announcement was made on Wednesday by retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), on behalf of the Federal Government.
Olumode’s appointment comes ahead of the retirement of the incumbent Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who is due to exit service on August 13 upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.
According to Jubril, Olumode is well qualified for the position, having completed all required in-service training, command courses, and several professional development programmes both within and outside the country.
He added that Olumode brings a robust background of experience, having transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose to the position of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) in charge of the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.
Olumode is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
