Tinubu Names 31 New FCC Commissioners, Appoints Chairman and Secretary

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives, as the new Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

The appointment was announced in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and released in Abuja on Monday.

The President also named Mohammed Musa as the Commission’s Secretary and retained Kayode Oladele from Ogun State as Commissioner. Oladele, a former lawmaker, had been appointed in 2024 and served as the FCC’s Acting Chairman.

In addition, Tinubu renewed the appointments of Lawal Ya’u Roni (Jigawa), Abubakar Atiku Bunu (Kebbi), Eludayo Eluyemi (Osun), and Abdulwasiu Kayode Bawalla (Lagos) for a second term.
