Groovy December Team Partners FCT Women Affairs Secretariat on Cervical Cancer Eradication Campaign
By our Correspondent
The Emerging Abuja Groovy December Team has taken another bold step in its mission to create lasting social impact.
During a recent courtesy visit to the Mandate Secretary for FCT Women and Girl Child Affairs, Dr. Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi, the Groovy December Team sealed a landmark partnership to champion a Cervical Cancer Eradication Campaign across the Federal Capital Territory.
The collaboration aims to intensify public enlightenment on the importance of the cervical cancer vaccine and dispel misconceptions surrounding it. According to experts, the vaccine does not affect fertility but serves as a vital shield, protecting young girls from cervical cancer as they mature into adulthood.
With the strong backing of the Mandate Secretary and the FCT Secretariat, the Groovy December Team plans to leverage its vast media influence and global network to take this message to every home—ensuring that no girl child is left behind.
Coordinator of the Groovy December Initiative, Hon. Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, expressed appreciation to Dr. Benjamin-Laniyi for aligning with the team’s vision to reposition Abuja as a hub for investment, tourism, entertainment, and social impact.

He reaffirmed the team’s commitment to deploying all necessary resources to achieve this noble cause—empowering the Nigerian girl child to overcome every barrier that limits her potential. Groovy December, he emphasized, is not just about entertainment but about empowerment, awareness, and building a brighter future for the nation’s daughters.
