2025 Christmas Most Peaceful in Years — CAN President Bishop Okoh Commends Tinubu’s Anti-Insurgency Efforts
The National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Daniel Okoh, has reaffirmed the association’s readiness to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu in advancing national development and progress.
Bishop Okoh made this known in Lagos on Friday during a courtesy visit by CAN leaders to President Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at their Ikoyi residence.
Addressing journalists after the visit, the cleric observed that the 2025 Christmas celebrations marked a significant departure from previous years, as they were largely free of violent attacks on Christian worshippers.

According to him, the visit was aimed at expressing gratitude to President Tinubu and the First Lady for their efforts in supporting the less privileged and their dedication to steering the country forward.
He also lauded the administration’s recent security measures, noting that they have contributed to improved safety across the country. Bishop Okoh described the peaceful celebrations as encouraging, stressing that it was the first Christmas in many years without reports of attacks on churches.
He expressed optimism that the improved security situation would be sustained and assured the President of CAN’s continued support, pledging the association’s commitment to working closely with the government to promote peace, progress, and development in Nigeria.
