Mourners Thrill Umunze for Final Burial Rites of Hon. Nnabuife’s Mother

Umunze, the headquarters of Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was filled to capacity as a large number of dignitaries from all walks of life converged to pay their last respects to the late Mrs.
The final funeral rites, which took place on Friday, witnessed a massive turnout of dignitaries, politicians, and well-wishers from far and near, according to a press release issued by the legislator’s media team on Saturday.
Among the prominent personalities in attendance was the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo. Others included Senator Victor Umeh (Anambra Central), Senator Emma Nwachukwu (Anambra South), and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa.
Also present were several members of the House of Representatives, including Hon. Maureen Chinwe Gwacham (Oyi/Ayamelum), Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu (Awka North and South), Hon. Peter Aniekwe (Anambra East/West), and Hon. Dominic Okafor (Aguata).
The Secretary-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, His Excellency Emeka Sibeudu, attended the ceremony, alongside Hon. Emma Nwafor (NTU Japan), who represents Orumba South Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Local government officials at the event included Hon. Shadrach Azubuike, Mayor of Orumba South; Hon. Ben Nwankwo (Ishingidi, Orumba); and the Deputy Mayor, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Obidike.
Other notable dignitaries were the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Ify Ibinabo; the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor; and traditional rulers, including His Royal Highness, the Igwe of Awa Community.
The overwhelming attendance underscored the remarkable life lived by the late Mrs. Nnabuife and the high regard in which her family is held within and beyond the community.
Several respected personalities, including Chief Arinze Onwuzuruike (Aridon), Senator Emma Nwachukwu, and Hon. Emma Nwafor, were among those who paid glowing tributes to the deceased.
Overall, the funeral rites served as a befitting farewell to the late Mrs. Elizabeth Nnabuife, reflecting the deep love, respect, and solidarity shown by the community toward her and her family.
