Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has described grassroots-oriented empowerment initiatives as a realistic and effective route to sustainable community development.

Nwosu made this remark in Obingwa, Abia State, during a civic reception and empowerment programme organised by the lawmaker representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Hon.
Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr.
He commended the initiative, describing it as a practical example of leadership that prioritises tangible benefits for the people. According to him, the true test of governance lies in its ability to produce visible and positive changes in the lives of citizens.

The former Chief of Staff further noted that enhanced collaboration and strategic alignment with wider political structures would strengthen development efforts and help attract more opportunities to the constituency.
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed optimism that the intervention would stimulate small-scale businesses, enhance healthcare delivery and boost economic activities across the area.
Items distributed during the event included vehicles, motorcycles, dialysis machines, medical equipment, laptops, business support tools and various forms of financial assistance.
Prominent dignitaries in attendance were former Governor of Abia State and Ambassador-designate, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu; former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Akomas; Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa; alongside lawmakers and other political stakeholders.
Traditional rulers, youth and women groups, as well as residents of the constituency, also graced the occasion, which recorded a massive turnout and was marked by celebration.
