The dusk came too soon when the bright part of her star was evolving and making brilliant illuminations. I never heard anything about her before now, even when her voice so mellifluous was attracting standing ovations, creating goosebumps and awe in high places where Kings and Queens in resplendent garment converge.

She took the stage on many occasions with her voice, made everybody to forget momentarily their pains, sorrows and disappointment.

Staying longer, spreading love , happiness with her voice the desire of many, but life happened. Didn’t die naturally. Not by road accident, she was bitten by two snakes, but her death afterall was caused by anti-vemom injection given too late. Help came, but it came when it wasn’t useful, when the venom had already spread through her system.

Nigeria happened and it happened to a glowing star Ifunnaya , shining with great voice, spreading Christ in a world where singing for obscenity trends.

Ifunnanya would have been alive todayif Nigeria were working. Her death a big cut, the pain very unbearable to anyone who listens to her renditions that would always make hearts melt in astonishment.

Though she is gone, but her voice reverberates with such a strong hold on people’s emotions. One could only imagine her state of mind, waiting for the anti- venom injection, and the thought of death in her unsettling mind, very scarry and horrific.

Rest in peace Ifunnaya! Your ministry here on earth would now have a seamless flow in heaven, with Angels, worshiping God eternally. We lost but heaven gained. We mourn but heaven rejoices, a better place your soul rests!

May Nigeria not happen to us and our light forcefully extinguished when its illumination is becoming brilliantly dazzling. Amen!!
