Okpella Monarch Acquires Drone, Engages 118 Security Personnel to Combat Insecurity
The traditional ruler of Okpella Kingdom, the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, His Royal Highness, Mike Sado, on Wednesday disclosed that he has acquired a drone and recruited over 100 security personnel to address insecurity in Estako East Local Government Area and surrounding communities.
He also revealed plans to construct a building for the Police Area Command.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists, the Okpella monarch dismissed reports alleging that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Oba Sado explained that some members of the community who previously benefited from the sharing of development levies were dissatisfied with the reforms he introduced over the past seven months.
He noted that he had put an end to the misuse of community funds, adding that noticeable infrastructural improvements have been achieved since his ascension to the throne.
According to him, the petition reportedly submitted to the EFCC was an attempt to tarnish his image due to his firm stance that community funds should be used strictly for development purposes rather than shared among a few individuals.
The monarch further stated that community revenue has increased significantly, rising from N120,000 to over N8 million monthly.
