The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has mobilised and deployed 3,200 regular and special marshals for effective traffic management during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The FCT Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Felix Theman, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Abuja, said 37 patrol vehicles, 14 ambulances, 24 motorcycles and four tow trucks have been deployed to ensure the free flow of traffic across the six area councils of the territory.

According to the Sector Commander, all unit commanders have been directed to deploy adequate personnel to all roads leading to praying grounds to ensure effective traffic control.
Mr Theman explained that all high-traffic areas have also been identified, with adequate logistics put in place to respond to emergencies during and after the Sallah celebration.
He noted that the corps is working in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property during the festivities.
He urged motorists to cooperate fully with FRSC personnel, adding that all four entry and exit points into the FCT would receive special attention.
Meanwhile, the FRSC has commenced a targeted enforcement campaign tagged “Operation Safe Kugbo.”
The campaign is aimed at improving the free flow of traffic and reducing accidents involving articulated vehicles along the busy Kugbo outbound corridor in the Federal Capital Territory.
On the first day of enforcement, the Nyanya Unit Command successfully restricted 89 articulated vehicles from operating during designated peak periods.
