ADC Lagos Chapter Disowns Federal High Court Suit, Denies Involvement
The Lagos State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday distanced itself from a lawsuit reportedly filed at the Federal High Court by certain individuals in the name of the party.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the state chapter said it “categorically dissociates itself from the suit currently before the Federal High Court, Abuja, which was purportedly filed on behalf of all State Chairmen and State Executive Committees of the party.
Clarifying its position, the state executive committee, through its chairman, Gbenga Asiru, stated: “The Lagos State chapter was not consulted before the suit was filed. No approval was granted to any person or group to represent us.
“The action reflects the personal views of the plaintiffs involved and does not represent the position of ADC Lagos State.”
The chapter reiterated its dedication to internal democracy, respect for the rule of law, and the promotion of unity and stability within the party.
While acknowledging the right of individuals to seek legal redress, the statement stressed that such actions should not be presented as collective decisions of the party.
ADC Lagos State added that it remains committed to strengthening its structure and advancing the shared interests of its members and supporters.
