The National Agenda for Tinubu 2027 (NAFT.27), a pioneer intellectual property think-tank and non-governmental organization that first proposed the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has made a formal presentation to the President, outlining reasons why former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, should be appointed Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
In its submission, NAFT.27 based its recommendation on several compelling and verifiable reasons, emphasizing the need for a well-grounded intellectual, scholar, and grassroots politician who understands Nigeria’s political dynamics across both the North and South. The group noted that such a figure must also possess deep knowledge of voter behavior and regional responses within the country.
According to a media statement signed by its National Convener, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, MFR, a prominent APC member, political scientist, and public affairs commentator, Ganduje demonstrated strong leadership while steering the affairs of the APC between 2023 and 2025. During this period, he was credited with initiating key reforms, including the establishment of the All Progressives Training Institute in Abuja.
Dr. Ibrahim further stated that Ganduje played a significant role in encouraging opposition governors to voluntarily align with the APC, presenting the party as a platform capable of fulfilling their political aspirations.
The group expressed confidence that appointing Ganduje as Director-General of the 2027 Presidential Campaign Council would not only strengthen the campaign structure but also enhance the prospects of President Tinubu’s re-election and sustain the APC’s winning momentum.
NAFT.27 also appealed to the President to consider what it described as Ganduje’s strategic importance, noting that such an appointment would align with the party’s longstanding tradition of selecting a campaign director-general from the North when the presidential candidate is from the South.
It added that, among northern political figures, Ganduje stands out for his extensive influence, wide-reaching political network, and strong connections across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
