Vanguard Recognises Ojulari’s Leadership in Transforming Nigeria’s Energy Sector

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has been honoured with the 2025 Energy Innovation and Reform Icon of the Year Award by Vanguard Media Limited.

The award, which recognises Nigerians making notable contributions across different sectors, was presented during a ceremony held in Lagos on Friday.
Ojulari, who could not attend the event, was represented by the Executive Vice President, Business Services at NNPC Ltd, Sophia Mbakwe, who received the award on his behalf.
The presentation was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Ayodeji Adelagun, in the presence of key industry stakeholders. Also in attendance was the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, Andy Odeh.
According to Vanguard Media Limited, the honour was in recognition of Ojulari’s outstanding leadership and transformative impact at NNPC Limited. The organisation highlighted his role in driving strategic reforms, improving operational efficiency, strengthening corporate governance, and promoting innovation focused on value creation.
It further noted that his leadership continues to influence Nigeria’s energy sector, supporting sustainable growth and positioning the company to meet both current and future energy needs.
The award also reflects NNPC Limited’s ongoing transformation into a commercially driven and globally competitive energy company dedicated to delivering value to Nigerians.
