Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has visited Oyo State to sympathise with Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of the state over the abduction of teachers and pupils in the Ogbomosho area of Oyo State.
The visit to Ibadan on Sunday came amid the continued captivity of the victims by bandits and kidnappers, a situation that has lasted for more than one month.
While appealing to the Federal Government to ensure the safe return of the victims, including children, Governor Bala Mohammed commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the steps he has taken towards securing the release of the abducted teachers and pupils and reuniting them with their families.
He described Governor Makinde as a young and energetic leader who is determined to do things differently and move the country to greater heights.
Kauran Bauchi also called on security agencies to intensify efforts towards securing the release of the victims and improving the protection of lives and property across the country.
He further urged Nigerians to remain security conscious and be vigilant in view of the increasing activities of criminals and bandits.
Governor Bala Mohammed appealed to Nigerians to elect leaders who have the interest of the people at heart, considering the prevailing security challenges confronting the nation.
The Bauchi governor expressed regret that the current administration has been unable to effectively address the growing insecurity, which, according to him, has exposed Nigerians to numerous security threats.
