Nasarawa Police Arrest Man Over Wife’s Alleged Murder

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Musbawu Amodu, for allegedly beating his 20-year-old wife to death in Agyaragu Community, Obi Local Government Area of the state.


The Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement, said the tragic incident has left behind two children from the couple’s six-year marriage.
The statement explained that the case was reported to the Agyaragu Police Division with allegations that the suspect assaulted his wife, resulting in her death.
According to the statement, police patrol officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where the victim was evacuated to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, for medical examination and preservation. The suspect was subsequently arrested and, during interrogation, allegedly confessed to the act, claiming he acted in anger after the deceased reportedly refused to prepare food for the family.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, Mr. Shetima Mohammed, has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lafia, for a thorough, discreet, and expedited investigation.
