At 60, Dr. Somadina Anene marks a milestone by unveiling Dynamics of Real Estate Investment.

Renowned estate surveyor, real estate developer, investment consultant and academic, Dr. Johnson Somadina Anene, has celebrated his 60th birthday with the public presentation of his new book, Dynamics of Real Estate Investment, a comprehensive guide designed to help individuals build wealth through strategic real estate investment.

The colourful event attracted prominent personalities from government, the private sector, the diplomatic community, professional bodies, traditional institutions and the real estate industry, all of whom gathered to honour Dr. Anene’s remarkable achievements and over 35 years of contributions to Nigeria’s real estate sector. Chairman of the occasion, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, praised the celebrant for his outstanding impact on the industry, describing the book as a timely resource that offers practical knowledge and guidance for investors, professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Among the dignitaries present were Senator Ubah, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), representatives of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, estate surveyors and valuers, real estate developers, members of the diplomatic community, religious leaders, traditional rulers and other stakeholders. Reviewing the 265-page publication, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, 1st Deputy President of ACCI, described it as a rich compilation of more than three decades of practical experience and scholarly research, noting that it would serve as a valuable resource for investors, practitioners, policymakers and students of real estate.
Speaking during the launch, Dr. Anene said the book was inspired by the need to bridge the knowledge gap in the real estate sector through practical, research-driven investment strategies. He explained that while many believe real estate investment is either reserved for the wealthy or requires little expertise, the book demonstrates that success in the sector depends on knowledge, patience and strategic planning. The publication examines capital flows, market trends, investment signals and data-driven strategies aimed at helping investors make informed decisions, while also promoting human capital development, improved housing delivery and the real estate sector’s contribution to Nigeria’s economic growth.
Dr. Anene is the Principal Partner of Som Anene & Partners, Chief Executive Officer of Shelter Aid Group, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), a member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Convener of the annual Real Estate and Construction Exhibition, Conference and Symposium (RECON Expo), and Chairman of the Abuja Trade Center (ATC). With academic qualifications in Estate Management, Project Management, Business Management and Administration, he has built a distinguished career in professional practice, investment consulting, property development and academia.
