FRSC Charts 2026 Strategy as Akume Calls for Stronger Operations

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has urged the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to develop practical strategies that will improve its operational effectiveness in addressing the country’s current traffic challenges.

Speaking at the Second Corps Marshal’s Strategic Session with Zonal and Sector Commanding Officers from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja, Senator Akume encouraged the Corps to invest more in personnel capacity building and deploy technology to enhance traffic enforcement and emergency response.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, the SGF commended the FRSC for its significant contributions to strengthening national security. According to Dr. Kana, the Corps’ recent collaboration with other security agencies has helped improve security across the country.
Senator Akume reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing FRSC operations in tackling road accidents on the nation’s highways.
The Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, said the strategic session offered management staff and commanding officers another opportunity to review the Corps’ operations and chart a course toward achieving its 2026 goals.
Mallam Shehu Mohammed assured that the FRSC would continue to strengthen its collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective traffic administration.
The theme of the session is “Strengthening Institutional Capacity for Enhanced Service Delivery in a Challenging Environment.”
