Breaking:Panic As Gas Explosion Shakes Kubwa Community

There was an explosion on Arab Road, Kubwa, this morning, causing panic among residents.

The explosion occurred at a gas refilling outlet situated along the newly inaugurated Arab Road, close to Liberty Junction in Kubwa.

Eyewitnesses said a car owner driving against traffic rammed into the shop housing the gas cylinders, sparking the heavy explosion.

Blasts from the fire uprooted installations such as signposts and affected nearby buildings, while shaking others several metres away.

Personnel of the Fire Service arrived at the scene and are battling the inferno.

More water tankers from the Fire Service and operatives of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, have arrived at the scene to reinforce the operation.
