Aliyu: Tinubu’s Funding Boosts States, Drives Development

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has said state governments are now better funded under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Governor stated this in Bodinga Local Government Area during the flag-off of the sale of food items at subsidized rates, an initiative introduced by his administration to ensure that rural dwellers and junior civil servants have access to essential food items at affordable prices.

In a statement by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa, Governor Aliyu said state governments now receive more funds from the Federal Government, enabling them to execute meaningful projects and programmes that directly impact the lives of the people.
“All the developmental projects we are executing in the state are as a result of the adequate funding we are receiving from the Federal Government.
“Similarly, all the palliatives we have been providing to our people, including this sale of food items at subsidized rates, as well as the payment of salaries on the 18th of every month, are also as a result of the adequate funding we receive from the Federal Government,” he said.
Governor Aliyu called on the people of the state to ignore what he described as campaigns of calumny against President Tinubu and urged them to support his candidacy in the 2027 presidential election.
He commended President Tinubu’s economic policies aimed at putting the country on the right track, describing them as “one of the best things to have happened to Nigeria.”
Governor Aliyu further assured President Tinubu of his administration’s total support for his re-election in 2027.
On insecurity in the state, the Governor said his administration had been providing support to security agencies to curb the menace of armed banditry.
He said the administration had provided 62 armoured vehicles, in addition to more than 200 patrol vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles earlier donated to security agencies to enhance their operations and combat banditry in the state.
“We need to understand that addressing insecurity requires our collective support, and therefore, we must assist the security agencies with relevant information.
“We must equally expose informants living among us because they provide the bandits with information on happenings in our rural communities.”
The Governor also appealed to the people of the state to continue to pray fervently for an end to insecurity in the state and the nation at large.
