Peter Obi: Clean Record Alone Won’t Fix Nigeria

Nigeria Needs Two Strong Wings, Not One
If these are all that Peter Obi has on his plate, then Nigeria isn’t for him. These may be what Nigeria and Nigerians want, but certainly not all that Nigeria needs to be fixed.
If all these are what his equity is—his finest attributes, compelling strong cards and joker—Nigeria may be witnessing a change, but not a change strong enough to produce the desirable result.
Nigeria doesn’t need only a clean record to be fixed. What would work perfectly for Nigeria isn’t just the left wing of the bird—clean record, no bribery, no corruption, no secret deals, no forged certificates, etc.
The right wing—visionary leadership, competence, diligence, innovation and compelling leadership qualities—should equally function effectively.
Let this discussion be a balanced one. It is only when the two wings function effectively that the Nigeria we all crave becomes possible.
