2027: Akpabio Predicts Victory For Tinubu in South South Region

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has predicted total victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the South South geo-political zone.

Akpabio stated this on Saturday, in his remarks at the Rivers State Rainbow Coalition rally held inside the mainbowl of the Adokie Amasiemeka Stadium, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

According to Akpabio, “Mr President, the ingredient needed in this zone, particularly Rivers State to return you to the Villa on the 16th of January, 2027 is here and that is Peace.

“There is total peace in Rivers State and it’s based on that peace and unity among all stakeholders and political leaders in display today from the zone that Mr President would be delivered.”

Akpabio noted that “Rivers people are not new to elections and voting. They did it in 2023 as the only state that APC won in the South South.

Addressing President Tinubu, Akpabio said: “In 2023, this was one State that you won resoundingly. It was not a question of 25 percent. In the whole of the South South, it was in Rivers State that President Bola Tinubu won resoundingly.”

He noted that the people of the state have more than enough reasons to cast their votes for President Tinubu because of their son, the FCT Minister, who is doing a wonderful job in Abuja.

“President Tinubu loves Rivers people and that is why he handed a very strategic ministry; the FCT to your son and he has not disappointed us.

“I want to thank you for producing Nyesom Wike who is doing wonders in the FCT. We have never seen such level of development before. Mr President is a man who knows how to put square pegs in square holes.”

Akpabio said Rivers people and indeed all Nigerians had reasons to vote for President Tinubu for several reasons. “For the students of Rivers State, over one hundred thousand of you have benefitted from the Students Loan Fund, the educational funds for indigent students and those from less priviledged families who would not have gone to school.

“Mr President you met a very wobly economy. You were able to move our foreign reserves from just $4.5 billion to over $50 billion.

“On tax reforms, we had taxes in Nigeria that were codified as far back as 1939. You came and unified the tax system and today Nigeria is getting more money from taxation than from crude oil.

“The Coastal road passes through this state and that would lead to more economic and commercial activities along the coastline.

“The tax reform has brought in more revenue for government, while the removal of fuel subsidy was to stop corruption which had eaten into the fabric of the nation.”

Senator Akpabio charged the South South people to continue to stand in support of the President Tinubu-led administration because it meant well for the ordinary Nigerians.

“We will continue to campaign despite the fact we are a very popular party and the government of the day,”

He prayed that the gathering of the previous day in Akwa Ibom State and that of Rivers State would never be in vain and that come 16th January, President Tinubu and the APC would sing a song of victory.
