Abuja residents were left in shock on Friday, September 12, 2025, after a dramatic turn of events unfolded at Wuse Zone 2, where two thieves who robbed a woman of her money and phone met a violent twist of fate.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects had snatched the woman’s belongings in broad daylight and attempted to escape.

In the course of their flight, however, a vehicle ran over them, leaving both men severely injured and unable to continue their getaway.

Rather than being rescued or handed over to security operatives, the scene quickly escalated. Enraged residents and passersby descended on the suspects, subjecting them to a brutal beating while they were still reeling from the accident.

One eyewitness, Samuel Yunusa, who also shared footage of the incident, described the situation as “double pain,” noting that the suspects not only suffered the impact of the car but also mob justice immediately after.

As of press time, the condition of the thieves remains unclear. Authorities are yet to comment on the incident, which has reignited debates about jungle justice and the dangers of citizens taking the law into their own hands.
