Akpabio: Insecurity Will Soon End Under Tinubu

President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to ensuring that insecurity across the country becomes a thing of the past.

Akpabio gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving members of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, led by its National President, Dr. Lima Ahmed, during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly.
According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant on Media to the President of the Senate, Jackson Udom, Akpabio said: “On behalf of the Nigerian Senate, I welcome you to the National Assembly. I am delighted to receive you in my office. As Nigerians, we are all aware of the insecurity challenges confronting the country. I can assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is giving the situation the utmost attention, and that is what led to the recent release of the schoolchildren abducted in Oyo State.”
He added: “The current administration is doing a great deal to address the challenge, and I can assure you that very soon, insecurity will become a thing of the past. Nigerians should not rely solely on what they hear or see on social media, as it does not always reflect the true situation in the country.”
Speaking further, Akpabio attributed the reluctance of women to support one another during elections to the actions of some women who had previously occupied public offices but failed to use the opportunities responsibly, thereby affecting the prospects of others.
The Senate President also assured the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria of his personal support and that of the Senate for its forthcoming international ladies golf tournament scheduled to hold at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.
Earlier, the National President of the association, Dr. Lima Ahmed, thanked Akpabio for receiving her delegation. She formally invited him to the tournament and decorated him as the Grand Patron of the association.
