ANAMBRA POLICE FOIL JUNGLE JUSTICE, RESCUE SUSPECT OVER ALLEGED MURDER AND CONCEALMENT OF BODY PARTS IN REFRIGERATOR

The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a suspect from an attempted jungle justice after he was accused of killing a 25-year-old man and concealing the victim’s dismembered body inside a refrigerator in Okpoko.

According to the Command, operatives attached to the Okpoko Division intervened on 2nd September 2025 to save the suspect, later identified as Leberechi, male, about 30 years old.

He was reportedly unconscious at the time of arrest and was immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment. He is presently under armed guard to prevent escape.

Police operatives who visited the crime scene discovered decomposed human body parts hidden inside a refrigerator. The remains were evacuated to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for a comprehensive investigation to ensure justice is served in accordance with the law.
