The Concerned APC Stakeholders Forum has called for the retention of the ruling party’s zoning formula and endorsed the continuity of the current national leadership as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its 2026 National Convention.

Speaking at a press conference, the Forum’s Convener, Dr.

Dominic Alancha, emphasised that maintaining the existing zoning arrangement is vital for preserving unity, equity, and internal stability within the party.

“Zoning has remained a stabilising mechanism that promotes inclusiveness, fairness, national balance, and a sense of belonging among the diverse components of our party and federation,”

Dr. Alancha said. “Abandoning or altering this formula may generate unnecessary tension and weaken internal harmony.”

The Forum urged the National Executive Committee (NEC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, party elders, and all stakeholders to uphold the current zoning arrangement. Dr. Alancha also suggested that party leadership in the various geopolitical zones consider micro-zoning at the state level to strengthen balance and equity.

The group further endorsed Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC National Chairman, citing his achievements in stabilising the party, enhancing internal reconciliation, strengthening administration, and driving membership growth.

“Continuity in leadership will enable the National Chairman to consolidate reforms, preserve institutional memory, and strengthen preparedness for upcoming electoral challenges,” Dr. Alancha said.
During the briefing, Dr. Alancha also declared his intention to contest for the position of National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the APC.

He stated that his goal is to enhance party communication, engagement, grassroots mobilization, and image management in line with contemporary public communication practices.

“If given this opportunity, I shall strive to effectively communicate the party’s policies and programmes, shaping public perception and fostering greater confidence among Nigerians and party faithfuls,” Dr. Alancha said.

In conclusion, the Forum called on all APC stakeholders and members to place the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions, stressing that unity, leadership continuity, and capable hands like Dr. Alancha’s would ensure the party remains strong, united, and ready to continue delivering good governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Forum reaffirmed its loyalty to the APC and its leadership.
