President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos for a working visit as Nigeria prepares for a modest celebration of its 65th Independence Anniversary.

The President’s visit to Lagos comes shortly after he attended the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

While in Lagos, Tinubu is scheduled to hold strategic meetings with captains of industry in the private sector as well as senior government officials. The meetings are expected to focus on economic reforms, investment opportunities, and policies aimed at stimulating growth in Nigeria’s business environment.

The President is also slated to commission landmark projects in the coming days as part of activities lined up for the Independence anniversary. On Tuesday, September 30, he will travel to Owerri, Imo State, to inaugurate infrastructural projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

A major highlight of the celebrations will be the formal commissioning of the remodelled National Theatre in Lagos, which has now been renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts in honour of Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate. The cultural edifice, redesigned to promote Nigeria’s creative economy, is expected to serve as a hub for arts, culture, and entertainment.
