Nigeria, Thailand Deepen Agricultural Partnership for Food Security

As part of efforts to tackle challenges affecting food production and strengthen agricultural development in the country, the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) has entered into a partnership with Thailand to promote agricultural research, innovation and technology transfer.
The Executive Secretary of ARCN, Dr. Garba Dabban, stated this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the launch of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
He said the collaboration would create opportunities for researchers, farmers and other stakeholders to benefit from modern technologies, knowledge exchange and practical solutions to agricultural challenges.
Dr. Dabban reaffirmed ARCN’s commitment to supporting partnerships that enhance agricultural research, innovation and capacity building in line with Nigeria’s food security agenda.
The Provost and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River, Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu, noted that the initiative would benefit host communities, students, farmers, cooperative societies, innovators and the private sector.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Nigeria–Thailand cooperation in agricultural research, entrepreneurship and technology-driven farming, while boosting food security and sustainable agricultural growth.
