Avoid Third-Party Interference to Prevent Broken Homes, Ex-Nasarawa Speaker Urges Couples
By David Odama
Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged Nigerian couples to avoid third-party interference in their marriages and shun ethnic and religious intolerance in order to foster peace and unity in their homes.
He stressed that respect for the marriage institution would not only strengthen marital bonds but also attract blessings and God’s favour.
Abdullahi, who currently serves as Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe State, emphasized that marriage should serve as a platform to promote peace and unity among diverse ethnic groups. He described it as a sacred religious obligation that must be taken seriously.
According to him, a successful marriage should be built on the fear of God and adherence to religious teachings.
The former Speaker made these remarks during the wedding fatiha of Rabo Usman Nana in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. In his message to the representative of the bride’s father, Muhammad Sadauki, Abdullahi encouraged the couple to uphold the sanctity of marriage.
He further advised the newlyweds to resist any form of third-party intrusion in their relationship and prayed for them to enjoy all the blessings that marriage has to offer.
