Benue Assembly Elects New Speaker After Dajoh’s Resignation

Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga has been elected as the new Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly.

He succeeds Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh, who stepped down from the role through a handwritten resignation letter submitted to the Clerk of the Assembly on August 24, 2025.

Emberga was chosen during an emergency session of the 10th Benue Assembly held on Sunday, August 25, 2025, convened to address the leadership vacuum created by Dajoh’s exit.
