Benue Police Arrest 10 Over MACBAN Chairman’s Killing

The Benue State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Benue State Chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and one Yakubu Isa.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Clement Nwadiogbu, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
The Command, which had earlier condemned the unfortunate killing in its entirety, said significant progress has been recorded in the ongoing investigation.
According to Nwadiogbu, following intensive intelligence gathering and tactical operations carried out by the Command, 10 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.
The suspects were apprehended on the night of June 27, 2026, during a coordinated operation by tactical teams in the Otukpo area of the state.
Those arrested are Titus Tyodenda, 25; Utibe Sam, 20; Owoicho Ameh, 18; Sunday Useni, 21; Sunday Ogbanje, 46; Daniel Raphael, 23; Adokole John, 24; Samuel Ogazi, 32; Agbo Daniel, 25; and Onazi James, 30.
The Commissioner of Police commended the tactical teams and investigators for their swift response and professionalism in effecting the arrests.
He assured members of the public that investigations are still ongoing, adding that efforts have been intensified to identify and apprehend other persons connected with the criminal act.
The CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring that everyone found culpable is brought to justice in accordance with the law.
He further appealed to residents of the state to remain calm, continue cooperating with security agencies, and provide useful information that could assist in the investigation.
Nwadiogbu stated that the Benue State Police Command remains resolute in its commitment to protecting lives and property while sustaining peace and security across the state.
