The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled several high-profile members, including former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Imo governorship candidate Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Senior Advocate of Nigeria Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, over accusations of engaging in anti-party activities.

Also expelled are Senator Mao Ohuabun, Abraham Amah, George Turner, and Chief Dan Orbih.

The action was approved on Saturday at the party’s 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, where delegates overwhelmingly endorsed the move. Party leaders said the decision was crucial to restoring cohesion and discipline as the PDP prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Party officials added that the extensive purge reflects a renewed determination to eradicate internal sabotage and reposition the PDP for greater national relevance.
