Buba tasks Nigerian volunteers to proudly represent the nation in Uganda.
The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Hon. Yusuf Yakubu Buba, on Monday, July 13, 2026, presided over an orientation and briefing for 28 Nigerian volunteers scheduled for deployment to Uganda under the Technical Aid Corps Scheme.
The exercise, held at the NTAC Conference Room in Jabi, Abuja, was aimed at preparing the volunteers for effective service by equipping them with the knowledge, values and professional guidance needed to represent Nigeria with excellence, integrity and distinction.
Addressing the participants, Buba stressed the importance of discipline, patriotism, professionalism and cultural sensitivity. He reminded the volunteers that they would serve as ambassadors of Nigeria and urged them to uphold the country’s image by demonstrating competence, commitment and respect for Uganda’s laws and traditions throughout their assignment.
The orientation, themed “Equipping Volunteers for Global Impact Through Service and Excellence,” focused on preparing the participants for their responsibilities while reaffirming NTAC’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives through technical cooperation, capacity building and the deployment of skilled professionals to friendly African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.
The briefing also provided the volunteers with vital information on their responsibilities, expected conduct, welfare, safety and the expectations of the host country to ensure a successful and impactful service.
The 28 volunteers are expected to apply their professional expertise across various sectors in Uganda, further strengthening bilateral relations between both countries while promoting sustainable development through knowledge sharing and technical assistance.
NTAC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting international cooperation and projecting Nigeria’s positive image through selfless service, professional excellence and human capacity development.
