Civil Society Organisations call for appointing Anti-Stigma Ambassadors in Ondo State – Comrade Alo Martins
The Chairman of Coalition of All Civil Societies in Ondo State, Comrade Alo Martins, has reiterated the urgent need for the state government to appoint Anti-Stigma Ambassadors to help in the fight against stigmatisation and discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS in the society.
In a chat with newsmen at the public presentation of a book titled “Drag On – A True Experience of Olusiji Balogun” at Alagbaka, Akure on Thursday, Comrade Alo decried the trend of discrimination and stigmatisation of people living with the virus even by some medical professionals.

In his words, Comrade Alo said “I commend the author of *Drag On – A True Experience of Olusiji Balogun.*
“We are not gathered here to mourn, but to celebrate the resilience, vision, and transformative journey of a man whose story has inspired many, Aremo Olusiji Balogun.”
“This book is more than a memoir; it is a mirror reflecting the trials and triumphs of leadership, the courage to confront adversity, and the power of authenticity in public life.”
“I am proud to stand alongside fellow change makers, thought leaders, and citizens who believe in the power of storytelling to shape our collective future. This launch is not just a milestone for Olusiji Balogun, but also a beacon of hope for everyone facing the stigma of HIV/AIDS.”
“I therefore call on the Government of Ondo State to take decisive action against all forms of stigmatization, and to recognize Aremo Olusiji Balogun as an HIV Ambassador, for he has rekindled hope and inspired courage in our society.” Comrade Alo declared.
