Concerned Christian Youth Forum Raises Alarm Over Ongoing Christian Killings in Nigeria
By our Correspondent
The Concerned Christian Youth Forum (CCYF) has raised fresh alarm over what it described as an ongoing “Christian genocide” in Nigeria, calling on world leaders and human rights organizations to intervene before the crisis worsens.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday and signed by its Convener, James Paul Adama, the Forum expressed solidarity with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other groups advocating justice for victims of violent attacks targeting Christian communities across the country.
Adama noted that since 2010, several prominent figures — including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) — have consistently condemned the killings of Christians, yet the attacks persist with little or no accountability.
“From villages burnt down to worshippers slaughtered in cold blood, the world cannot afford to look away any longer,” the statement said.
The CCYF observed that the international community is beginning to take notice, as lawmakers from different countries have publicly denounced the ongoing atrocities.
In a symbolic gesture of global solidarity, fans of the Romanian national football team recently displayed a banner during a World Cup qualifier match, boldly expressing support for persecuted Christians in Nigeria — an act the Forum described as “deeply moving and courageous.”
The group also accused certain individuals and organisations of deliberately spreading disinformation to downplay the crisis, warning that such actions only embolden the perpetrators.
“To those paid propagandists seeking to distort the truth, know this: your lies will not stand. The world is watching, and justice will come,” Adama declared.
He further stated that those complicit in concealing the truth about the killings would one day be held accountable “before history and before God.”
Reaffirming its commitment to collaborate with both local and international partners, the CCYF insisted that silence in the face of genocide amounts to complicity and vowed to continue pushing for justice for the affected Chris
tian communities.
