Edo NMA Congratulates Idia Ize-Iyamu on Historic Appointment as UBTH’s First Female CMD

The Edo State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has congratulated Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu on her appointment as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), describing it as a milestone in the hospital’s history.

In a statement issued on Saturday and signed by the branch chairman, Dr. Eustace Oseghale, the association hailed Prof. Ize-Iyamu’s emergence as the first woman to lead UBTH, noting that it reflects her outstanding dedication, exemplary leadership, and commitment to advancing healthcare delivery.

“Your extensive work, clinical acumen, compassionate approach to patient care, and proven leadership have inspired many and set a high standard within our community,” the statement read.

Dr. Oseghale commended her record of achievements in various leadership roles, expressing confidence that she would leverage her experience, vision, and skills to drive further growth and development at the hospital.

The association also pledged its support for her administration, wishing her a successful and impactful tenure.
