Ember Months: FRSC boosts training, logistics and operations ahead of the ember months.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it is putting adequate measures in place to ensure the safety of lives and property on Nigerian highways during the last four months of the year, commonly known as the ember months.

The Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, disclosed this in Abuja during a valedictory session held in honour of the retired Assistant Corps Marshal, Operations, Olusegun Ogungbemide.
He said officers and men of the Corps had undergone adequate training to enhance their effectiveness during the ember months, while efforts were also being made to ensure that all commands receive the necessary logistics to conduct operations across the country.
Mallam Shehu Mohammed commended the contributions of the retired Assistant Corps Marshal, describing him as a dedicated officer who spent 30 years serving humanity and the nation. He said the Corps would greatly miss his services and prayed for his good health in retirement.
The Corps Marshal also urged younger officers to remain committed to their duties and strive to make a meaningful impact while in service.
In his remarks, the retired Assistant Corps Marshal, Olusegun Ogungbemide, expressed appreciation to God for preserving his life and called on Nigerians to embrace humanitarian service and contribute to nation-building.
He urged younger officers to remain loyal and dedicated to the service, stressing that anyone who serves diligently would eventually be rewarded. He also advised them not to place money above their responsibilities, saying the system would recognise and reward dedicated officers.
Ogungbemide appreciated the Corps Marshal for his support and for giving him opportunities to serve his fatherland. He also pledged to continue assisting the Corps whenever called upon.
The retired Assistant Corps Marshal previously served as the Lagos State Sector Commander and Public Education Officer at the FRSC headquarters in Abuja before retiring as Head of Operations.
