Energy Summit: PENGASSAN Advocates Skills Development for Workers

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has advocated diversification and training, especially for workers in the oil and gas sector.


Speaking at the ongoing Energy and Labour Summit in Abuja, the President of PENGASSAN, Comrade Festus Osifo, emphasized the need to expand the oil and gas sector through training to equip workers with the knowledge required for optimal performance.

On his part, the Authority Chief Executive, Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Mr. Rabiu Umar, represented by Mr. Bashiru Sadiq, said the Authority was more concerned about partnerships and regulations that would ensure lasting productivity and efficiency.

The Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Professor Shuaibu Aliyu, said the Fund was open to collaborations that would train oil and gas staff, as well as non-oil and gas staff, to contribute optimally to the growth of the nation’s economy.
