Chief Stephen Bawa has been formally coronated as the District Head of Old Kutunku, alongside Alhaji Sani Mohammed, who was installed as the Dadachi of Old Kutunku, in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the coronation ceremony held at Old Kutunku Primary School, Gwagwalada, Abuja, the Aguma of Gwagwalada, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, admonished District Heads and community leaders to be fair and just in their dealings with all residents, regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation.
Alhaji Muhammadu, who was represented by the Waziri of Gwagwalada, Mallam Yabala Madaki Magaji, said the counsel was necessary to sustain the peace and unity currently enjoyed in the area, as well as to ensure continued progress and development of Gwagwalada and its environs.
The traditional ruler, who described peaceful coexistence as the bedrock of development in any society, warned that the government would not hesitate to sanction any District or Village Head found wanting in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He therefore urged District and Village Heads in Gwagwalada to always play their part in promoting peace and development across the area.
In his remarks, the newly installed District Head of Old Kutunku, Chief Stephen Bawa, expressed gratitude to God for the successful coronation ceremony and pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him by the people of the community.

While seeking the support and cooperation of the people, he promised to carry everyone along in the day-to-day administration of the community.
He also commended the Minister of the FCT, Dr. Nyesom Wike, for the ongoing road infrastructure projects in Old Kutunku, and appealed for the speedy completion of the ongoing secondary school project to further boost educational development in the community.
Also speaking, the Gadaci of Old Kutunku, Alhaji Sani Mohammed, thanked God for making the occasion a reality and pledged to continue contributing to the growth and development of the community.
In a goodwill message, the Gwagwalada Police Area Commander, ACP Chinyere Akelaga, congratulated the newly coronated traditional leaders and urged them to work closely with the Police to maintain law and order in their domain.
She assured of the continuous support of the Police in safeguarding lives and property within and around Old Kutunku.
