People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dr. Mike Omeri, has stressed the need for massive voter registration and sensitization among youths in Nasarawa State, calling for robust campaigns, education, and mobilisation of eligible voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja, the former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) maintained that effective mobilisation of voters was crucial in empowering citizens to protect their franchise against political manipulation and electoral malpractice.

He explained that voter registration was a vital process, as the voter’s card remains the sole instrument through which citizens can hold leaders accountable and positively influence policies that benefit society.

“I want to give personal, patriotic advice to the youths who are the energy and strength of society to be proactive, vigilant, and diligent by participating in the ongoing voter registration exercise. Civic rights come with responsibilities, and this is one of them,” Omeri said.

Dr. Omeri, a PDP Senatorial Aspirant for Nasarawa South in 2027, encouraged citizens to remain committed to societal progress, stressing that no effort was too small in nation-building. “We are all equal before our Creator, and everyone’s contributions matter,” he added.

He reaffirmed his determination to redefine the political landscape in Nasarawa, urging the PDP and other stakeholders to intensify efforts in mobilising prospective voters for the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) registration exercise across the state.

According to him, grassroots sensitisation is key to ensuring that eligible voters are properly guided on the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process. He tasked PDP leaders and members to reach every ward, constituency, and polling unit to educate citizens and encourage them to register.

“This is an opportunity for us to go back to our constituencies, our wards, and our polling units to encourage our people to register so they can vote in 2027,” he restated.

Dr. Omeri also commended the youth for their unwavering commitment to transforming Nasarawa State and urged them to sustain their efforts in driving development across all spheres.
