FCT Council’s Election: Danjuma Iko Afanyibada Emerges ADC Chairmanship Candidate For Gwagwalada Area Council

Hon. Pharm. Danjuma Iko Afanyibada has emerged as the Chairmanship Candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Gwagwalada Area Council during the forthcoming FCT Area Council poll.

Affirming the Chairmanship primaries election in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Returning Officer, Dr. Peter Edeh said Hon. Pharm . Danjuma Iko Afanyibada emerged unopposed.

Dr. Peter Edeh stated that other Aspirants stepped down for Hon. Pharm . Danjuma Iko Afanyibada due to his experience and competency to deliver the Party during the 2026 FCT Area Council election.

In their remarks, Officials of the Independent National Electoral Committee, INEC, Stella Mazila and Salamatu Musa who monitored the primaries described the exercise as free, fair and credible.

In his acceptance speech, the ADC Chairmanship Candidate for Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Pharm. Danjuma Iko Afanyibada thanked members of the Party for giving him the mandate and promised to embark on projects that would improve the well-being of electorates in the area if elected in next year’s election.

“I am very happy and grateful to them and I’m assuming every one of them that I will not fail them in this noble course and it has been a while that we’ve been working together in Gwagwalada Area Council and they know my capacity and what I can do when it comes to the well-being of the people” He stated

While soliciting the support of electorates before, during and after the election, Hon. Pharm . Danjuma Iko Afanyibada advised them to shun money politics and ensure the emergence of credible leaders during the 2026 FCT Area Council election.

“As we’re preparing for the FCT Area Council election, I want to tell the electorates to support and vote for me during the poll because in Gwagwalada Area Council, we believe in the best for the good people of the area hence the need for them to vote and support me towards becoming the next Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council and I promise not to disappoint them” He stated.

Officers of the Department of State Security Service, DSS, the Police, NSCDC and other security personnel were also on ground to monitor and ensure the peaceful conduct of the Chairmanship primaries election of ADC in Gwagwalada Area Council.
