FCT: Peter Mobolaji of NERDC, Sheda Abuja, Installed as Bashorun Yoruba of Chukuku Land

Mr. Peter Mobolaji of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Sheda, Abuja, has been formally installed as the Bashorun Yoruba of Chukuku Land in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The chieftaincy installation ceremony took place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, and was performed by the Leader of the Yoruba Community in Chukuku, Chief Abdulazeez Olorunlami.
During the ceremony in Chukuku, Chief Olorunlami explained that the honour was conferred on Mr. Mobolaji in recognition of his selfless contributions to the development of the Chukuku community as a youth. He urged the new Bashorun not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in him by the Yoruba Community’s leadership.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Peter Mobolaji expressed gratitude to the Yoruba Community in Chukuku for the recognition, noting that the chieftaincy title would further motivate him to continue contributing to the progress of the community.
He appealed to residents of Chukuku to support efforts toward repositioning the area, stressing the importance of unity and collective purpose among members of the Yoruba Community in achieving their shared developmental goals.
The event, which attracted prominent sons and daughters of the Yoruba Community within and outside Chukuku Land, featured special prayers for Chief Mobolaji’s success in his new leadership role.
