Fire Guts Section of Head of Service Complex in Abuja, No Casualties Reported

A fire outbreak on Saturday afternoon affected a section of the complex housing the office of the Head of Service of the Federation in Abuja, causing property damage but leaving no casualties, officials confirmed.
The fire was reported to have started at about 2:30 p.
m., sending panic through parts of the government complex that accommodates several federal ministries and administrative offices.Emergency responders from the Federal Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the scene after distress calls were made. Firefighters worked for hours to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the complex.
Eyewitnesses said thick smoke was seen billowing from one section of the building, prompting workers and visitors within the premises to quickly evacuate the area as emergency teams battled the flames.
Preliminary reports indicated that the fire originated from a section within the complex housing major federal ministries. However, the exact cause of the incident had not been officially determined as of the time of filing this report.
Officials confirmed that although the fire caused some damage to office property and infrastructure, no fatalities or injuries were recorded during the incident.
Authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
Government officials also assured that measures would be taken to strengthen safety protocols across federal government buildings to prevent future occurrences.
