Freedom at last: 20 abducted NYSC prospective corps members regain freedom.

Twenty prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted while travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to their orientation camp in the South-East have regained their freedom.

The development was confirmed in a statement signed by Adeola Oloko, Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, said he received confirmation of their release from Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, during a telephone conversation at about 5pm on Wednesday.

The prospective corps members were abducted while travelling to their NYSC orientation camp, triggering concern among their families and calls for intensified efforts to secure their safe release.

Their freedom brings relief to their families and communities, which had been anxiously awaiting news of their whereabouts.

Further details on the circumstances surrounding their release were not immediately available.
