The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced plans to conduct medical tests to determine the health status of commercial drivers across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

FCT Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Felix Theman, made this known at the flag-off of the 2025 Ember Months Campaign in Abuja.

He said the initiative would involve collaboration with medical experts to provide free blood sugar tests, hypertension checks, vision screenings, and free eyeglasses for motorists across the six area councils.

Mr. Theman also revealed that adequate regular and special marshals have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow at the four major entry and exit routes of the FCT.

He added that the Corps had intensified public enlightenment campaigns across religious centers to educate road users on safe driving habits and general road safety practices.

According to him, mobile courts would be deployed as part of efforts to curb high-risk offences such as overloading, speeding, and reckless driving during the Ember Months.

Mr. Theman cautioned motorists against offering bribes to FRSC personnel, warning that officers found guilty of unethical conduct would face disciplinary action.
